Can anybody please tell me somewhere I could go for help with baby milk and food for toddlers please? I tried to find some food banks yesterday and places for baby milk with no luck. Ive not slept all night because i dont know what to do? There's no breakfast for the 2 girls and 1 bottle left for the baby. I can't believe this is happening

Hi Patricia,

I'm Loraine, one of the Netmums' Parent Supporters.

I'm so sorry you've found yourself in this position this morning - how are things now? Have you managed to find any support?

You said you tried to find some food banks yesterday with no luck - do you mean you couldn't find any in your area? Here is a link to finding a local food/baby bank which may help. https://www.goodto.com/family/where-to-find-your-local-baby-bank-458436

It's really important that you reach out this morning to either your health visitor or your GP to ask for advice on where you can get some help. Some food banks ask for a referral from your HV or GP so it's a good idea to contact them first.

Do you have any family or friends or perhaps a neighbour who you could ask for help? We all need help sometimes Patricia and when there are babies involved, it's really important that you reach out and get the support you deserve.

Please don't share any personal information on here, but if it would help, I could send you a pm so that we could look at more local provision for you.

Please come back and let us know how things are and we'll try to support you in any way we can.

Hi Patricia,

We've moved your thread into our drop-in clinic Baby and child health board, so you can get the advice and support you need.

Hi Patricia.

Thank you for coming back to us to let us know you managed to get some items.

How have you been today?

Did you manage to speak to either social services or your Health Visitor who will be able to support you at this time?

I can see my colleague has replied earlier and I just wanted to come and also echo what she has said in reaching out to services in your local area. We have many families that contact the local health visiting service or local children centre team who may be able to offer ongoing support to you and your family.

I hope your able to get the right help and support you need at this time.

All the best

Health Visitor Emma

Do you get the healthy start vouchers? If not apply how old are your girls? And what area do you live in?

Call your local citizens advice they will have information on food banks. Also some CAB’s run food banks from offices.

Also some children’s service, churches and mental health organisations also can advise you. Social services provide urgent help and local community and local communities. DWP departments provide vouchers. You can check online for food banks in yours and other areas.

Food banks are not that hard to find in my opinion. I’ve had to use them in the past.

I have heard stories like yours, many times and it used to pull at my heart strings. If I had money I would try to help with a bank transfer, but I know there are some extremely dishonest people who would use this platforms to pray on good kind hearted people for money. The stories I read over Christmas were shocking. I didn’t believe a lot of them.

Anyway I hope the information I provided helps.

Hello, I do hope by now you have found some help and are able to feed your children. You haven't given any background as to how you have found yourself in this situation. Do you have a partner or are you a single mother? Please approach the relevant authorities who will be able to help you.
