Skincare for a 9 year old

DD will be 9 next months and she really starts with puberty. She already has some bust development and now the skin starts.

In the evenings she complains about being very sweaty and her face really glows with sweat, even on a day she is less physical active. On some days when she has lots of activities going on she is already a bit smelly.

Currently she showers around 3x a week plus if required because of swimming/sport/suncream, on all other nights she washes thoroughly, but I think she needs to start on some kind of face routine.

Does anybody has a recommendation of a facial wash NOT for acne prone skin? She doesn't have any spots yet and I want to stay away from the typical teenie stuff as long as possible as she doesn't need it yet.

I would go for something mild. Clinique has a great line but rather pricey. Neutrogena has a good sensitive skin version, too.

I would also have her use a toner - which will be in the acne isle. Just find one for sensitive skin. Again, I think Neutrogena has one.

I would make sure she's wearing deodorant now since that's the area of most stinky sweat.

And you may want to start assessing when she should shave. If it starts getting darker on her legs. I was very much picked on as a child when my leg hair grew in. I was about 10-11 years old.

I personally hope that is a long time away. I hate the feeling they have to groom themselves so early to comply to a norm.

the simple range is nice and not too expensive, neutrogena is more for acne type skin. my daughter is 8 and with how she is developing so far I would assume she will need something in the next year or so and will use simple for her.

I agree with Susan, my dd uses the simple range, she uses the facial wipes and then puts their light moisturiser on, so far so good and not hand any spots whatsoever. My dd is 12 and has been doing this for the last year.

Clean & Clear has a good skin gel for £3 and toner and scrub.
Boots has their own brand with salicilic acid that is amazing and cost £1

Hi I would also recommend the simple range it's very good and very neutral on the skin. I used it and will buy it for my 8 year old too.

I have two ten year olds with similar issues, which started about a year ago too. They wash their faces daily with Cetaphil from Boots. Its for sensitive/intolerant skin and gives a good cleanse without being aggressive or drying. I've noticed if they slack off on the routine they do get pimples and blackheads. Once a week I use a teatree strip on their noses. They do get sweaty and a bit of BO so they at the sink each morning and shower in the evening. They also use deodorant daily. I shave under their arms for them as and when needed.
