12yr old with long 3th period?

Morning ladies coming for bit of advice .

My DD is 12 had 2 periods that were 3days long super light in Sept/then Oct/ she didn't get any period in November untill Jan .. now this period is heavy 2nd day was heavy enough for her to leak at night ..gave her tena lady night pads that make it more bearable ..but she is on day 8 atm and still have red blood coming out even tho its not heavy anymore but still bleeding doesnt seem like ready to end ? I forgot mine what it was like when I was getting them but should I be worried they lasting g longer then 7days ? Thank you x

No My 12 year old started last year and hers can be well over a week each time and heavy x

That sounds pretty normal to me. If she is feeling any different in herself maybe go to the doctors as it could be something to do with iron.

It's normal for periods to be all over the place when they first start, my daughters first few were really light and next to nothing then she got really heavy periods where she would bleed through pads in less than no time.

Keep en eye and if they are very heavy/painful you can see the GP and get tablets to help with that.

Have you looked at period pants at all? Modibodi do some brilliant 24 hour ones that are like boy shorts. They are expensive but really good to have if only for night times or days it's really bad as a backup, these gave my daughter much more confidence at school.

My daughter who is 12 started hers last year hers are heavy amd well over a week x
