Hi just trying to see if IABU here or not - generally get on ok-ish with MIL. Felt very tired before had a bit of a lie down and DH phoned MIL and said to her “oh she’s having lie down she’s very tired” probably not a big issue idk.

Now MIL has phoned twice in half hour to tell me that it looks like I’m not well and I shouldn’t be feeling tired and having a lie down & also to tell me that the reason for my tiredness is because I don’t take care of myself by taking vitamins 🤷‍♀️

Just to add my tiredness is because I didn’t sleep well last night (one of them nights) and it’s not because I’m not well or due to lack of vitamins.

So AIBU to think it’s not really her business why I’m tired or should DH not of really of mentioned anything at all to her

Also forgot to mention that she said to DH she’s going to buy me a whole load of vitamins to give to me & that I need to see a Dr

I don't blame you tbh I'd feel the same. Things that happen in my home whether it's major or minor is really not anyone else's business. I think MIL's tend to over step a lot whether it's intentional or not putting us DILs in awkward positions. Once when I had a common cold mine decided she was coming over with covid tests even though i said there is no need that too more than once but she decided to show up anyway so I basically ignored her when she knocked on the door. She's not showed up uninvited since but still is pushy so I feel for you. It's important to make boundaries clear but it's easier being said than done and I myself struggle with it still. Try telling her it's a one off and you are fine and ignore her calls. People get tired once in a while and it's perfectly normal. We are all human after all. I wish you luck xx
