So I’m really at the end of my tether. It’s a really long story but my child has been using drugs and it is becoming obvious he has been dealing drugs too. His behaviour has been so bad and violent that I can’t even have him at home with the other children at the moment. He leaves the house without permission, he constantly smells of weed. He literally doesn’t care about any of us or how we feel. He is 14 years old. He’s already been excluded from school for taking drugs into school. Every step I make to intervene and stop the exploitation he is experiencing he hates me even more. I want to keep him safe but I’m scared I’m lose him forever

Hi Laura

I'm Catherine, one of the Parent Supporters here at Netmums.. Sorry to hear how tough things are - I can hear how worried you are about him. He may not understand or share your worries at the moment so it can feel really hard. Do you have supports at the moment? Would you consider chatting to your GP and letting them know what is going on? They will be able to access support for both you and your son, such as referral to services such as CAMHS. I'm also going to link the Talk to Frank website here as they have lots of advice and support services too : Advice for parents & carers | FRANK (talktofrank.com)

Hopefully some of our lovely community will be along soon too offer support but please come back to us if you would like to chat some more

Catherine
