hi all, just wondered what time everyones kids go to bed. my 6yr old has kicked off tonight as i made him come in from playing out at 8 so he could be bathed and bed for 8.30. i would perhaps let him stay up a little later but his 3yr old brother won't sleep unless he's in room so most nights they go at same time. am i just mean or is this a normal time?

Mine are 2 and 6 and even though they sleep in separate rooms they go to bed at the same time, 8.30 weekdays and a bit later at weekends (then they sleep in later and i get a tiny lie-in )
If mine go to bed any later then its difficult in the mornings for school. You are normal, trust me

Jamie will be 5 on Monday and he goes to bed at 6pm, no later than 6.30pm unless it's a special occasion because if he doesn't he's a grumpy so and so

Hi,
My DS is nearly 5 and his usual bed time during the week is about 7:30, I personally think this is late enough for my DS as if he doesnt go to bed early hes a right little grouch in the morning when im trying to get him up and ready for school

At the weekend and during the hols though we do let him stay up later

glad i'm normal then:D

it's my OH that made me paranoid, we have a big grass play field behind our house (surrounded by a horseshoe of houses) that all the kids play in and there were still some out at nearly 10! i thought that 8.30 on a weekend was late enough (they don't lie in up at 7) but OH said 'but everyone else is out', so told him if he wanted to go play out thats fine:lol:

both mine age 4 & 7 go to bed by 8pm midweek and at about 8.30pm at the weekend. The youngest goes straight to sleep and the eldest is allowed to read for 15mins

Gosh to me that seems so late. Not saying it's wrong for your child though.

My 7 yr old is always in bed asleep by 7.30 and allowed to stay up until 8 on Friday & Saturday nights.

Mind you she has always been a bed bug!!

My 5 year old is in bed by 7.30 school nights and 8 - 8.30 Fridays and Saturdays.  DD is 8 months and in bed by 6 - 6.30.  both of mine are usually up by 6.30 every morning though.

we take our 5 and 2 yr old up at 7 but by the time stories etc are done its lights out by 7.30 at the weekend sometimes they stay up a little later but neither of them sleep in so we end up with grumpy kids the following day
