Hi….

so my baby has had this lump since she was born, originally I thought it was from birth and over a couple of weeks it would even it’s self out!

shes 7 weeks now and it’s still there. I’ve had it looked at twice and been told it’s nothing to worry about. I can’t help but wonder what it is? It isn’t the same on the other side, it also is hard, feels like bone.

has anyone had anything similar with there babies? Hers some pics….

Hello Sophie

You have done the right thing to have her head looked at to be sure she is well and does not need any further support with it. Its great news no-one is worried which is what you need to keep remembering.

My first thought was also that it had resulted from birth, and that in time it will settle. If it is bone and just part of her skull, then in time when her hair grows you will no longer notice it.

If your LO has not yet had her postnatal check up with her GP, you can ask them to have a look at it once more for further reassurances if you feel you need to.

I would keep an eye on it, and if it changes pop back for them to take another look.

I do hope others come to share their experiences soon if they feel they have been through anything similar.

Best wishes

Thank you for your reply.

If I remember rightly a bit of her head was popping in and out when in labour she come out sideways as she turned as I was pushing that’s why I thought it was from birth.

maybe it’s just the shape of her skull?! It’s just so easy to think all sorts.

My other children have never had anythink like this, I think that’s why it’s been more alarming.

Her postnatal check is in a week I will definitely mention it then!

Thank you again x
