I’m nearly 32 with PCOS. I’ve been TTC for nearly 2 years.

I did once get pregnant, but my routine 12 week scan showed a MMC and I had to have a surgical removal a few weeks ago. I’m hoping to restart fertility treatment (Letrozole to bring on ovulation) soon.

I’m a healthy weight and I gave up alcohol late last year. When pregnant I was taking progesterone and folic acid.

I’ve spent a small fortune on fertility treatment already. Feeling so sad / scared / angry that this is happening to me. I was wondering if anyone in a similar boat has a success story to share?

So sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I understand how devastated you must have felt.

I was 30 when I sadly lost my first pregnancy to a miscarriage and then I tried again 6 months later and has a 2nd miscarriage. Finally at age 32 I had my gist child, who is now 10 and I was 36 when I had my 2nd child.

You said you will be taking some medication in regards to making sure you ovalate.

I also understand that with PCOS that some months you may or may not ovalate and you're probably ovalating at different times with each cycle.

I had a friend who didn't have any medical problems in regards to getting pregnant but she struggled to get pregnant. I told her that she was probably ovalating later in her cycle than she thought.

In a average cycle it's typically 28 days, so with that in mind you would typically ovalate on days 13, 14 in your cycle but with my cycle sometimes I had a 28 day cycle other times it was 30 and 32. So I wouldn't of been ovalating on day 14. I would of been ovalating most likely on day 18 or 19.

Well in regards to my friend who I advised her that she was probably ovalating later in her cycle and she was missing that window of opportunity, as she was having sex around days 12, 13, 14 thinking she would get pregnant but she was ovalating later so because of this she wasn't getting pregnant.

She ended up paying hundreds to pounds only to be told she was ovalating later.

I highly recommend you use an ovalation monitor called the Advanced Clear Blue Digital Fertility Monitor. You can buy it on Ebay and Amazon. You have to buy the test sticks separately but they don't cost much.

I feel with the medication and using this that u will have a much higher chance of getting pregnant.

I got pregnant 1st time using it and look at the reviews as there amazing

Hi Charlotte,

I'm so sorry you're having difficulty ttc and to hear about your miscarriage. I was in exactly the same position as you having had 5 lots of fertility treatment. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me, however, I did become a mummy through adoption, and I can honestly say I couldn't love my son more even if I had given birth to him. However, I do still grieve the experience of being pregnant and all that goes with it and wondet why it happened to me. It felt so unfair. What I'm trying to say us don't give up on becoming a mummy regardless of the route you have to take to get there!! Wishing you lots of luck x
