My OH made me a little picture frame with a pic of us and a few little tickets from things we enjoyed together grouped round it. Was just the price of the frame from Wilko but I loved it more than chocs or flowers x

Have a free romantic day out together-take a packed lunch and have a wander round a free museum or art gallery or go to a local park or forest. Maybe make a couple of cupcakes or cut the sandwiches into hearts-bit daft but super cheap and fun.

Buy flowers from a supermarket-they are so much cheaper than from a florist and just as nice.

The meal deals they have in supermarkets are great as well-I've seen a couple for £10-£20 for 3 courses and a bottle of fizz-much cheaper than an expensive restaurant meal.

Do something meaningful to the both of you even if it doesn't appear traditionally romantic. We did our Valentine's Day yesterday as we are both working today. Packed a picnic and took the bikes out to our favourite spot and watched the world go by with a sarnie and flask of tea :) Totally free bar food we already had in the house.

Well we are skint his year but I have put a little love note in his lunch box this morning which I hope will make him smile, we've got a nice bit of Aldi steak for tea and a bottle of wine left over from xmas so that will do for us-you don't need to spend a fortune.

Or a picnic indoors, we love snuggling in front of netflix with a bowl of popcorn but you could level it up and put nice rug on the floor, with the fire going if you've got one, nice food, good movie, kids at their grandparents if poss.

I advise being romantic every day and in everything you do, then you won't have to make an especial effort just for one day...
