Hi,

im looking for advice on croup -

my son is 2 and has had 9 episodes of croup starting at 4 months old. He now seems to get croup every time he has a cold. I have a daughter 5 years old that’s is in school so she often gets poorly with common colds.

he has had many trips to a&e as this happens at night.

has any ones children grown out of this does it get any milder ?

do you take your child to hospital or do you mange it at home each time ?

we do see a paediatrician about this but it’s nice to get some advice from other parents with there experiences.

Hi Donna,

I wonder if you would be able to speak to your paediatrician about when they feel your LO would be able to have his symptoms managed at home and when they feel you should seek medical attention for further intervention.

You may find Croup - NHS (www.nhs.uk) helpful.

It would be great to hear from fellow Netmums members who may have gone or currently going through a similar situation to come and offer their advice and experience.

All the best
