Would appreciate any advice please. I’ve been in a relationship for the past nearly 11 years. We have a 9year old and own a house. We moved away from my hometown years ago, so I have no friends or family even remotely nearby. I struggle with mental health issues and I feel like the relationship isn’t helping this, I feel really uncomfortable whenever my partner is home and try to avoid him. A few years ago I tried to leave but he talked me into staying and since then, it’s just been *****. I don’t want to be here anymore but I’m in debt and I’m pretty sure I’m going to lose my job. I don’t even know where to start but I need help and I’ve got no one to talk to.

I'm Catherine, one of the Parent Supporters here at Netmums. Sorry to hear how tough things are - sending you a gentle hug. It sounds like your relationship is one of the factors in how you have been feeling but you also are away from family and friends and worried about money. Mel, could you contact your GP and let them know how you are feeling? They will want to support you and may be able to signpost you to local services too. Do you think you could reach out to any family or friends and let them know what is going on? They may not live close enough to offer practical support but they may be happy to listen and provide emotional support. Mel, I wonder as well if you have heard of Stepchange?
