The Gman Show and children in the Christmas Nativity play

Tik Tok comedian hilariously recreates all the different 'types' of kids performing in the school Christmas play – and we recognise them all

Parents have been left in stitches at a viral Tik Tok video on the ‘different types of kids’ in the school Christmas concert.

While it is the season to be jolly – it is also the season to sit through your child’s Nativity or Christmas play.

And while we all adore seeing our child on the stage, thanks to the ages of the kids involved it can often be an unintentionally hilarious experience for parents and grandparents in the audience.

There's always the one who doesn't want to be there or the one who waves throughout, and this TikTokker has perfectly impersonated them all.

'The tone-deaf shouter'

The ‘Types of kids at the Christmas concerts’ video has gained over 60k likes after having parents ‘crying’ laughing over types such as ‘the cryer’ ‘the over-animated one’ and ‘the tone deaf shouter’.

The side-splitting video was posted by comedian and digital creator Gary Thomas, who has over 380k followers.

Other typical kids in the play are ‘the waver’ who never takes their eyes off mum and dad, and the ‘doesn’t want to be there’ child, who stands arms folded and scowling all the way through the play.

Going by the Tik Tok name of The Gman Show, funnyman Gary acts out each child accurately while singing along to the lyrics of Winter Wonderland in his festive jumper.

Parents may recognise the ‘easily distracted’ child who performs their own routine, and the ‘flasher’ who is constantly showing everyone their undies.

Parents also loved ‘the star’ who makes the entire thing all about them and over-performs and sings the loudest.

The vomiter, face puller and mimer also made the hilarious shortlist.

The first video was such a hit that he posted a Part 2, with parents – and teachers – quick to leave their comments about how spot-on they were.

'This killed me'

One said: ‘As a music teacher I can already name names on who will do this.’

'Crying from laughing'

A primary school teacher said she was in hysterics, adding: ‘This killed me. I have one of each at least!’

Another posted: ‘My daughter is the flasher. Basically performed the Moulin Rouge in her reception year nativity.’

Another teacher commented: ‘As a teacher I am CRYING from laughing. The star and overly animated ones are besties.’

Meanwhile, some parents – and kids - had their own suggestions after sitting through many annual Christmas plays.

One said: ‘My kid said you need a ‘kid that didn’t remember it was concert day’ and has a Minecraft shirt on.’

While another said: ‘Brilliant – where’s the nose picker?’

One mum added: ‘You forgot the angry one who won’t even lip sync because he doesn’t want to do it.’
