If you're only planning on taking hand luggage on your next holiday, check out this simple toiletries trick that'll save you money AND hassle

If you're like most of us, you probably can't wait for your next family holiday over the summer after months of cold and rain.

But you're probably LESS looking forward to the stress of going through security and dealing with the toiletries restrictions in your hang luggage before you travel.

But luckily, for those of us only taking hand luggage on our trip – to save on the costs of haul baggage – there's a way we can avoid this stress AND save money – without compromising on how many liquids we can take with us.

Turns out, you can actually order all the toiletries you want to take with you abroad on the Boots website in advance, and get your products delivered to the Boots in the duty-free area – where you visit after security, to collect your items before your flight.

You just need to make sure your items are delivered to the shop that is 'airside after security.'

This way, once you and your family have gone through security, you can visit the airport duty-free Boots store to collect all your toiletries.

This way, you'll have everything you need without splashing out on expensive airport prices, or having to book hold baggage. Genius!

How does the hack save you money?

This handy airport hack saves you money because:

  • You don't need to pay for hold luggage
  • You can avoid hefty airport prices on your toiletries

TikTok user @ellieconnollyx , who described the trick as one of her 'favourite travel hacks' also explained how the trick worked.

She said: 'I go onto Boots online, I order everything I want about a week or 2 before, and I get it delivered normally for the day before I fly so that I know it's definitely there, I think they keep it for up to 2 weeks,' she said.

'But when you order it, you just need to make sure it's on airside after security, so when you go through security and go in Boots, you pick it up, they'll put it in a little bag for you.

'And then you've got all your toiletries without paying the hiked airport prices.'

'I've done this for years, such a good hack'

Commenting under the video, many TikTokers said they couldn't wait to try the hack out for themselves.

'Omg, I never knew I could do this,' exclaimed one user.

'I've done this for years, such a good hack, said another.

Travellers are just reminded to think about their return airport trip.

If they only have hand luggage, the same liquid rules apply abroad, so it means you won't be able to bring all the liquids home – but that's fine if you plan to use them all while on holiday!

What are the airport rules on liquids?

According to the government website, any liquids brought with you in your hand luggage must hold 'no more than 100ml.'

Any containers also need to be fitted in a 'single, transparent, resealable plastic bag,' measuring roughly 20cm x 20cm, and the bag should hold 'no more than a litre.'

You can check out the full list of rules on gov.uk here.
